Mental Health Patient In Need, Brandon Swinbank

Donation protected
I’m here to humbly ask for help for my brother Brandon. He is currently in a mental health facility trying to piece his life together. Brandon has had severe mental health issues for the past several years. Unfortunately, our health system has failed him, as it has so many others. Despite going to several doctors over the past three years, they are having a hard time finding a correct diagnosis and correct treatment. Without that, they are unable to find the perfect blend of medicine for my brother to feel better again. I’m asking for help because I want my brother to have the time he needs to get better, without having to worry about all his financial burdens. While he is in this treatment facility, he is unable to work. And although he normally works 50+ hours a week when he is well, busting his ass to try and make ends meet, it is not enough to cover his basic needs. With the stress of being mentally ill, he also has to worry about the life he has worked so hard to build for himself and his son, not falling apart on the outside.
If you met my brother years ago, he was a different man. He seemed happy and ok. Then life and hard childhood trauma came boiling up after our father and sister passed, and hit him hard. He was drinking to cope and needed to make many changes in his life to be better for himself and his special needs son. So, my brother agreed to be placed in a mental health hospital about 3 years ago. After he got out, he went into rehab, stopped drinking, and got on a better path. He was brave enough to leave an extremely toxic work environment and find a different opportunity. After that, he was able to get his own place and take care of his son. He put in the work, and he is trying so hard to keep himself together.
My brother also has a 10-year-old son who is autistic and has extreme ADHD. Brandon has worked so hard and is a wonderful parent, despite his struggles. He always puts his son’s well-being before his own and only wants the best for his son. Brandon is a good man and has grown into a really good father. He just needs extra help right now. So please, if you can find it in your heart to help that would mean so much to our family. If you can’t donate, please share his story. I want my brother to win this fight. I know most of you are no strangers to the struggles of mental health, so if you relate to this story at all, please donate or share. He is trying so hard to get better and get his life back on track for himself and his son as a single parent. We appreciate you taking the time to read this and if you relate, please find it in your heart to donate or share his story of strength.

Thank you from the deepest part of our hearts,
