Mental Health Matters: Well-being in College

Join Us in Destigmatizing Mental Health
Did you know that in 2019, data showed that 1 in every 8 people live with a mental disorder? Help us bring awareness to student mental health. With the statistics so high, you’d be hard-pressed to find someone who hasn’t been affected by mental illness. It feels daunting and overwhelming. Instead of drowning in despair, we found hope through the Mental Health Collaborative. Their mission is to destigmatize mental health through education and awareness. Together, we can help those who need it most.
  • There has been an almost 50% increase in college students meeting criteria for at least one mental health problem since 2013. Now over 60% meet the criteria.
  • 35% of students have been diagnosed with anxiety.
  • 27% of students have been diagnosed with depression.
  • Over 60% of Trans and gender-nonconforming students struggle with anxiety.
  • 13% of college students have considered suicide.

Help Us Win the Fight Against Mental Illness
The Mental Health Collaborative educates and raises awareness through its various programs for educators, parents and caregivers, coaches, and high school graduates. This is a vital organization, especially at a time when anxiety, depression, and suicidal ideation are the worst among college students than they have ever been.

Support the Mental Health Collaborative
Our Team supports this organization because we have all come face to face with mental health problems either directly or because we have seen the toll it takes on a loved one. Join us in donating to the Mental Health Collaborative to support their mission to destigmatize and educate people about their mental well-being.

  • Patients treated with collaborative interventions reach a diagnosis and initiate treatment within 6 months 75% of the time; in contrast to treatment as usual, less than 25% of patients receive appropriate care within the same time frame.
  • Current data suggests that Collaborative Care may significantly improve patient outcomes and time-to-treatment in all reviewed settings, and successfully adapts to special patient populations.
  • MHC helps children, families, and couples develop more awareness about the causes and triggers of problems and learn effective coping mechanisms. Collaborative therapy allows the therapist to help their client brainstorm solutions while allowing them to take the lead.

If you or anyone you know are struggling with mental health, please call or send a text message to 988.
