After 20 years of being an important milestone in the constant improvement of the Minneapolis lake Street community. Mercado Central, a Latino Comunity owned market, a cultural landmark and a cooperative, has suffered two enormous tragedies in recent times. Covid -19 pandemic has hit our communities hard. Mercado Central has been no exception. Small business owners have struggled with the economic drop that the pandemic has generated and the recent rebellion spread along Lake Street and other working-class communities. We could say these circumstances have brought us down on our knees and really need your support.
By supporting us you are not only investing in small businesses; you are investing in a community that is determined to remain rooted in the intersection of Bloomington Ave. and Lake Street.
