Mercedes Spinal Surgery

I recently traveled to Venezuela to see my family. Unfortunately, what started as a family trip has ended up being a family emergency.

 

This is Mercedes, my mom. She has been in the hospital for a week now. An excruciating pain, a resistant fever and many other isolated symptoms ended up in a diagnosis: she has a blood infection and an abcess in her spine.

The doctors told us she needed to have surgery ASAP.

As I am typing this, she is in the OR having surgery.

However, our insurance is only covering 75% of the medical bills.
