Meredith Reverdito is a woman of perseverance, thoughtfulness, determination, strength, and selflessness. She challenges herself daily with exercise, education, and adventure. She enjoys long walks through aisle 8 at Target. Most importantly, she is a supermom to her 8-year-old son Ethan and has evolved into our CrossFit “mom.” Meredith has become the nucleus of our crazy-close-knit family at CrossFit Lifeforce. And right now, one of our family members needs our assistance.
Meredith’s brave story began in August 2016 when she was diagnosed with stage 2 breast cancer. She endured a full schedule of chemotherapy, underwent a double mastectomy, and finished her medical care with radiation. This roller coaster of treatment had days that seemed unbearable, yet Meredith attended our 5:45AM CrossFit class regularly and competed with every last ounce of energy that she could muster.
In April of 2018, Meredith’s oncologists reported no signs of cancer! Meredith could gear all her energy to her husband Chad and son Ethan who are the reasons behind her every smile. As supermom, Meredith could return her focus on Ethan academically, physically, and mentally. Meredith has always placed her family first, and she could begin her selfless lifestyle again.
This October, the Reverdito’s were thrown a curve ball when Meredith received devastating news that she had an extensive tumor within her cervical vertebrae that caused a fracture to the bone and required surgery for stabilization. After months of nagging neck pain that she attributed to an exercise injury, Meredith was told that her breast cancer had returned in the form of bone metastases. Stage 4.
Her brave journey must continue with aggressive radiation to attempt to shrink the size of the tumor and then drug therapy/shots for life. Chad will be continuing his role as super dad with the addition of some supermom superpowers to ensure Ethan continues his every day success. Meredith is the strongest woman we’ve ever met, yet this new diagnosis is incredibly overwhelming. She must re-charge mentally to begin another fight; however, the financial stress is just as overwhelming as she and Chad are still re-paying medical bills from her initial treatment. Our hope is to lessen that financial burden so that Meredith, Chad, and Ethan can focus solely on Mer’s successful recovery. Please join us in raising these funds for our supermom and CrossFit family member; any bit helps. Let’s pay Meredith back for all the love, laughter, and sunshine she has brought to our lives!
