Meridyth needs a new car!
Donation protected
Meridyth Rock is a huge blessing to our church (City on a Hill: Melbourne East) and the wider community. She works tirelessly for those in need and is always armed with a prayer, word of encouragement or nugget of wisdom. She’s the first port of call for many people who are going through a rough time. She is endlessly generous with her time and talents, and does everything for the glory of God. AND... she does all this while driving hundreds of kilometres a week across Melbourne in an unreliable little car!
Yesterday as I was driving home from work along the Monash Freeway, I noticed Meridyth on the side of the road standing outside her car. When I stopped to see if she was OK, she explained that as she was driving her car had started to fill up with smoke. In typical Meridyth fashion she was more concerned about me standing outside in the cold than she was about herself, and refused to let me be inconvenienced by waiting with her for the tow truck.
This got me thinking about how we as a community could be generous to someone who has been so generous to us.
SO... I would like to raise a minimum of $5000 to gift Meridyth with a reliable new car so she can go on doing her awesome work, and to let her know how valuable she is to us as a community!
If we hit this target, I will up the goal to $8000.
Looking for an economical, cheap-to-service car such as a Barina, Getz, Civic or similar.
Should there be any left over funds, they will be spent on roadside assistance, rego transfer costs or fuel vouchers to assist Meridyth in her work.
Ideally, we would like to be able to raise the funds soon enough to be able to give this gift for Meridyth's birthday on the 2nd of September!
*Please be aware that 5% of the total donation is spent on GoFundMe platform fees.
