Hello dear reader,

My name is Meri Shahnazaryan, and I'm reaching out to share my story and ask for your support in achieving my dream of studying at Vrije Universiteit Amsterdam (VU Amsterdam) in the Netherlands.

I am an Armenian student currently in my final year of BA in English and Communication at the American University of Armenia. Throughout my academic journey, I have been deeply passionate about writing and exploring effective communication strategies. My studies have not only enriched my knowledge but have also fueled my desire to pursue further education in an international setting. More specifically, I have applied to Vrije Universiteit Amsterdam's Communication and Information Studies Programme and plan on following the Multimodal Communication Track.

Recently, I received the exciting news of my admission to VU Amsterdam, a prestigious institution recognized for its high-quality education system, multidisciplinary research approach, and multicultural environment. This opportunity is a dream come true for me, as it aligns perfectly with my academic and personal goals.

In an era where information is disseminated through various mediums such as social media, digital platforms, and visual storytelling, mastering the art of multimodal communication will equip me with the necessary skills to effectively convey messages across diverse audiences and contexts.

Educational Background

Since childhood, pursuing quality education has been of utmost importance to me. As someone with a strong scientific background stemming from being a graduate of Physmath High School in Yerevan, Armenia, afterward delving into social sciences and humanities during my undergraduate years, I developed a unique interdisciplinary perspective as well as an unyielding commitment to excellence, which is showcased by my 3.93/4 GPA for my four years of undergraduate studies. Getting to know a series of amazing professors at AUA was a transformative journey to get inspired by their dedication, expertise, and passion for their respective fields, igniting within me a profound sense of motivation and purpose.

Currently in the field of Communication

I have been involved in different communication strategy development initiatives; for example, I was an intern at a "Women's Support Center" in Yerevan, Armenia, and was sharing the company's mission by conducting their social media communication. I have had my input and contribution to creating a public relations strategy for the Folk-Art Museum in Yerevan.

Currently, I am a part-time communications specialist at “Renshin Urban Investments,” where I have already gained valuable practical insights into communication strategy developments, branding, and marketing, as well as an event organization.

All these experiences made me realize that I enjoy everything that is connected to shaping narratives. With dedication and enthusiasm, I look forward to taking on the next chapter of personal growth, poised to make a lasting difference in the dynamic realm of communication.

Financial Costs of Studies and the Aid I Need

Despite my acceptance to VU Amsterdam, I face a significant obstacle: financial constraints. The cost of tuition, accommodation, and living expenses in Amsterdam is significantly beyond my current means. As an international student from Armenia, I do not have access to the same financial resources as students from wealthier countries.

I had applied for a VUFP scholarship at the VU Amsterdam University, and although I possess all the required criteria, including an excellent GPA, work background, and social activities, to my disappointment, I was not granted the financial aid I was looking for. I have also applied for local Armenian scholarships, and I am still waiting for their decision.

My costs for a year of studies amount to:

This is the reason why I am reaching out to you and asking for your help. As an international student who aspires to learn about the paramount importance of communication strategies in today's interconnected and digitally-driven world, I seek your financial support to aid me in my academic journey.

My goal is to raise € 9000 to be able to cover the institutional tuition fee for my degree. The funds raised in this campaign, combined with any scholarships I receive and my family's savings, will cover the costs of my one-year program. This will hopefully ensure I have enough resources to complete my studies. All the funds raised within this campaign will be dedicated to my education.

My plans for the future

Your generosity will not only enable me to pursue higher education at one of Europe's leading universities but will also empower me to utilize this valuable knowledge to contribute to my community development in Armenia. I'm deeply committed to supporting and expediting media literacy. In our country's toughest times, we've witnessed the destructive power of misinformation on social media and digital platforms. This underscores the vital importance of a strategic, professional approach to information dissemination during a crisis. Given the inevitability of misinformation in digital platforms and beyond, it's crucial to equip people with the skills to navigate today's complex media environment and promote informed citizenship.

I firmly believe that people like me, who study in the fields of humanities and social science disciplines, can harness their expertise in shaping powerful storytelling around our country, our rich history, and our culture. I see this as a soft but powerful tool that contributes to our country's attractiveness and development prospects. Through strategic communication projects, I am eager to start initiatives showcasing Armenia's rich heritage to the world, promoting cultural diplomacy, and enhancing Armenia's global image.

I am committed to relentlessly pursuing these goals, and for that purpose, I would like to use the funds raised for a better education that will equip me with the necessary knowledge to pave the way to success.

Ես Մերի Շահնազարյանն եմ։ Ուրախ եմ կիսվել իմ պատմությամբ և խնդրել ձեր աջակցությունը Նիդեռլանդների Vrije Universiteit Amsterdam (VU Amsterdam) համալսարանում մագիստրոսական ծրագրում սովորելու՝ իմ երազանքին հասնելու համար:

VU Amsterdam-ը Հեղինակավոր համալսարան է, ճանաչված իր բարձրորակ կրթությամբ, հետազոտական կենտրոններով և բազմամշակութային միջավայրով: Այստեղ սովորելու հնարավորությունը ինձ դարձնում է շատ ավելի մոտ իմ պլանավորած ապագային և լիարժեքորեն համապատասխանում է իմ ակադեմիական և պրոֆեսիոնալ նպատակներին:

Կրթություն

Մանկուց ի վեր որակյալ կրթություն ստանալն ինձ համար չափազանց կարևոր է եղել: Ուսումնական տարիների ամբողջ ընթաքում ես ձգտել եմ բավարարել իմ հետաքրքրությունը ամենատարբեր ոլորտներում, սկսելով նկատել հաճախ անտեսանելի միջառարկայական կապերը։ Լինելով Երևանի լավագույն դպրոցներից մեկի՝ Ֆիզմաթի շրջանավարտ և զարգացնելով իմ վերլուծական մտածողությունը, ես խորապես համոզվել եմ, որ կրթությունը ամենակարևոր ներդրումներից է յուրաքանչյուրիս կյանքում։ Թվերի աշխարհին մոտիկից ծանոթանալուց հետո, բակալավրիատի տարիներին զբաղվելով սոցիալական և հումանիտար գիտություններով, ես սկեցի բացահայտել ճիշտ բառերի ճիշտ դասավորելու ուժը, որոնք ունեն պոտենցիալ՝ խթանելու դրական փոփոխություններ մեր շուրջը։

Այժմ Հայաստանի Ամերիկյան Համալսարանի անգլերենի և հաղորդակցության բակալավրիատի վերջին կուրսում եմ: Իմ ակադեմիական ճանապարհորդության ընթացքում ես խորապես հետաքրքրված եմ եղել էֆեկտիվ հաղորդակցման ռազմավարություններ ուսումնասիրելով ամենատարբեր ոլորտներում՝ մշակութային, սոցիալական, բիզնեսի, արվեստի և այլն: Այս տարիներին սկսեցի ամրապնդել գերազանցության նկատմամբ իմ անզիջում նվիրվածությունը։ Ունեմ գերազանց գնահատկաններ 4 տարիների ընթացքում՝ 3.93/4 մոգ։

Ներկայումս հաղորդակցության ոլորտում

Կրթությունից բացի, ես փորձել եմ ստանալ պրակտիկ գիտելիքներն իմ ոլորտում՝ ներգրավված լինելով ամենատարբեր նախաձեռնությունների մեջ։ Ես պրակտիկա եմ անցել «կանանց աջակցության կենտրոնում», ներգրավված եմ եղել նաև Երևանի ժողովրդական արվեստի թանգարանի հասարակայնության հետ կապերի ռազմավարության ստեղծման մեջ:

Այժմ աշխատում եմ որպես հաղորդակցության մասնագետ «Renshin Urban Investments»-ում, որտեղ արժեքավոր գործնական պատկերացումներ եմ ձեռք բերում հաղորդակցության ռազմավարության մշակումների, բրենդինգի, մարքեթինգի, ինչպես նաև միջոցառումների կազմակերպման վերաբերյալ։

Ինձ անհրաժեշտ օգնությունը

Եթե 2 տարի առաջ արտերկրում սովորելը թվում էր անհասանելի, այսօր ես ընդամեը մեկ քայլ եմ ետ իմ երազանքից։ Չնայած VU Amsterdam-ի իմ ընդունվելուն, ես բախվում եմ ֆինանսական խոչնդոտի հետ: Ամստերդամում ուսման, բնակության և կեցության ծախսերը զգալիորեն գերազանցում են իմ ներկայիս հնարավորությունները: Որպես Հայաստանից ժամանած միջազգային ուսանող, ես չունեմ նույն ֆինանսական ռեսուրսները, ինչ ավելի «արտոնյալ» երկրների ուսանողները:

Ես դիմել էի VU Ամստերդամի համալսարանի ներքին կրթաթոշակին, և թեև ունեմ բոլոր պահանջվող չափանիշները, ներառյալ գերազանց գնահատականներ, աշխատանքային փորձ և սոցիալական գործունեություն, սակայն ինձ չտրամադրվեց այն ֆինանսական օգնությունը, որն ակնկալում էի: Դիմել եմ նաև մի քանի հայկական կրթաթոշակների, և դեռ սպասում եմ նրանց որոշմանը։

Իմ ուսման մեկ տարվա ծախսերը կազմում են.

• Ուսման վարձը՝ 17,960 €;

• բնակություն՝ 7800 €;

• Կենսապահովման ծախսեր (սնունդ, հասարակական տրանսպորտ, ապահովագրություն)՝ 6,960 €

Ձեր աջակցության շնորհիվ՝ 9000 € ունենալու պարագայում կկարողանամ վճարել ինստիտուցիոնալ ուսման վարձը: Այս արշավի ընթացքում հավաքագրված միջոցները, ընտանիքիս խնայողությունների հետ միասին, կհոգան իմ մեկամյա ծրագրի ծախսերը և ես կկարողանամ ուսումս հաջողությամբ ավարտել։ Այս արշավի շրջանակներում ձեր բոլոր աջակցությունները կուղղվեն իմ կրթությանը:

Ապագայի իմ ծրագրերը

Ձեր առատաձեռնությունը ոչ միայն թույլ կտա ինձ բարձրագույն կրթություն ստանալ Եվրոպայի առաջատար համալսարաններից մեկում, այլ նաև հնարավորություն կտա ինձ օգտագործել այս արժեքավոր գիտելիքները՝ նպաստելու իմ համայնքի զարգացմանը Հայաստանում: Ես ուզում եմ առավելագույնս օգտագործել այս հնարավորությունը և իմաստալից կերպով վերադարձնել իմ հասարակությանը:

Մեր դարաշրջանում, տեղեկատվությունը տարածվում է ակնթարթորեն ու ամենատարբեր միջոցներով: Մեդիա գրագիտություը այն ծրագրերից է, որին ես խորապես պատրաստ եմ աջակցել, հմտություններս զարգացնելուց հետո այս ոլորտում։ Մեր երկրի ամենադժվարին իրավիճակներում, բոլորս էլ ականատես եղանք, թե ինչերի էր հանգեցնում սոցիալական մեդիայում, թշնամիների կողմից դեզինֆորմացիայի տարածումը։ Թվային աշխարհում նրանց ստրատեգիգ հարձակումերը, պատմության և իրադարձությունների իրենց տեսանկյունը ներկայացնելը օգտագործվում է որպես հզոր զենք մեր դեմ այսօրվա գլոբալիզացված աշխարհում։ Այս իրավիճակը փաստում է, թե որքան կարևոր է ունենալ ինֆորմացիոն, ստրատեգիկ ու պրոֆեսիոնալ մոտեցում հաղորդակցության ճգնաժամային իրավիճակներում։ Հաշվի առնելով թվային հարթակներում և ամենուրեք ապատեղեկատվության անխուսափելիությունը, իմ նախաձեռնություններով ցանկանում եմ մարդկանց տրամադրել հմտություններ՝ ունակ լինելու տարբերակել այսօրվա բարդ մեդիա միջավայրում վստահելի աղբյուրները։

Ես խորապես հավատում եմ, որ ինձ նման մարդիկ, ովքեր սովորում են հումանիտար և հասարակական գիտությունների ոլորտներում, կարող են օգտագործել իրենց փորձը մեր երկրի, մեր պատմության և մեր մշակույթի շուրջ պատումներ ձևավորելու գործում՝ նպաստելով երկրի գրավչությանը, զարգացման հեռանկարներին և Հայաստանի գլոբալ իմիջը բարձրացնելու նախաձեռնություններին:

Անգլերեն դասավանդելու տարիներն ինձ ստիպեցին հասկանալ, որ ես տարված եմ կրթությամբ։ Կրթությունս ավարտելուց հետո իմ ամենամեծ նպատակներից մեկը Հայաստանում դասավանդելն է և իմ երկրի կրթական զարգացմանը նպաստելը։

Յուրաքանչյուր նվիրատվություն, անկախ չափից, ինձ մեկ քայլ ավելի է մոտեցնում երազանքիս իրականացմանը: Անկախ նրանից, թե դուք կարող եք ֆինանսական ներդրում կատարել, կամ պարզապես կիսվել իմ պատմությամբ, ձեր աջակցությունն իսկապես շատ գնահատելի է:
