Merissa Galloway & Family

My name is Dana and Merissa is one of my best friends. We’ve known each other since high school and Merissa needs help right now. Many may know 2 years ago she had weight loss surgery. A year ago she had to have the sleeve converted to the Bypass because the first dr didn’t take into consideration she had acid reflux and it was making it impossible for to eat. So a year ago she went and had gastric bypass done. Now for months Merissa has been unable to eat and almost not drink without having excruciating pain. She has been to the dr, taken to the ER and no one has listened to her. 2 weeks ago a dr finally listened and they found she had an obstruction when her intestines connected to her stomach and they had twisted and started to develop scar tissue, not allowing anything to pass through them. She’s been starving and her dr wouldn’t listen to her! Another surgeon had her admitted to the hospital and put her on IV nutrition for a week before taking her to surgery and placing a feeding tube 5 days ago. 3 days ago they had to take her back in because she was bleeding into her stomach and then yesterday she was emergently taken to surgery again where they removed a huge chunk of her intestines in hopes that the healthy pieces will heal. She is in the ICU, just taken off a ventilator. The problem is her son is home needing to be taken care of with expenses and her moms car needs fixed and there are no means to get this done.
