Frankly, I’m terrified. I have a rare disease. I have a growth in my bile duct that dumps bile from the liver to the small intestine. It is less than 1/2 of 1% of all cancer. The 2-year survival rate for this kind of cancer is less 30%.
No, I’m not afraid of dying. I’m afraid about what will happen to Patti. She cannot afford to live in Oregon without my income. We used all of our savings and went into debt when she had cancer. She is in excellent health, now.
This just snuck up on me before I was prepared. I’ve paid off most of our debt and improved my credit score by more than 100 points. However, we don’t have much in savings.
The purpose of this fund raiser is to generate the money we need to move to Albuquerque, NM. Houses are about 60% of what they are in Oregon. We have already been approved for a loan. I estimate that the total costs for moving, travel, closing costs, and the like is about $15,000.

Because of the type of epilepsy I have can lead to an aneurysm, I am an automatic decline for life insurance other than the $10,000 I get through the VA.
