Methuselah Scholarship for Williamsburg Charter
Donation protected
This year marks the First Annual Methuselah Scholarship. Following in the footstep of the RCHS Scholarship, which awarded more than $7,500 to 12 alumni, the Methuselah Scholarship is an internalized celebratory send off for Williamsburg Charter High School's (WCHS) graduating Class of 2021. Deriving from its namesake, the scholarship aims at long term, sustainable aid that promotes excellence in education. The effort this year is to establish grassroots communal support for WCHS and to make the send off bigger than ever!
This year's essay prompt is:
“Until lions start writing down their own stories, tales of the hunt shall always glorify the hunter.”
Above is a well-known African Proverb. What does the proverb mean to you? What application does it have in modern times? How can its lesson(s) be integrated into daily life?
There will be 3 winning recipients chosen based on grades and essay submissions. All contributed funds will be dispensed to WCHS by June 1st and will be presented to winning recipients at Senior Awards Night on June 16th.
