In memory of Jack Dawson

On 28th January 2022, the world lost one of the best. Jack Dawson (39) tragically lost his life after a short but incredibly courageous battle with cancer that he fought bravely to the very end. Adored son, brother, loving husband, devoted father, uncle and friend to so many, Jack passed surrounded by his beloved wife Alice, his parents Pauline and Stephen, his best friend and older brother Luke, and his younger brother and sister, Joe and Millie.
Jack made an impression on people wherever he went, a personality with a booming voice you'd never forget. His presence filled the room and he always lived life to the full. He tackled his diagnosis in the same way he approached everything else; with determination, vigour and an uncompromising desire to succeed. Sadly we know now that this was an unwinnable battle and the family are faced with the unimaginable loss of a young life taken too soon and too quickly. Jack is now at peace, but will live on through his three beautiful children, Evie (6), Annabel (4) and George (20 months).
There has been an outpouring of love and requests to want to do something to help support Alice and their young children. From Jack’s wide and loving family to his friends in Shropshire where he grew up, his University alumni from Swansea where Jack captained the 1st XV winning the varsity match in 2005 and his rugby teammates from Swansea and Tredegar. Grief has been felt the world over especially from his friends and colleagues in Australia where Jack and Alice lived happily for years and started their family. We all want to do something to help.
This page has been set up to help raise funds to initially organise a memorial bench overlooking one of Jack's favourite surf beaches in Swansea, with any additional funds raised going directly to Alice and the children for future years to come.
Your contribution will be hugely appreciated and make a real difference to the most important people in Jack's life, his beautiful wife and children.
