Mueller Kirby family

On New Year's eve/day, this family lost a father. My friend of 30 years Kim Mueller lost her husband, and father of her two children Kamren, age 8 and Kaia, age 9. Dan was a friend, a son, brother, uncle and a veteran, a former Army Ranger. This family is my family. Dan, like many, long struggled with depression. During the pandemic, they lost their home, 2 cats and almost their lives in a fire that took their home. They managed to rebuild that home after fighting for more than a year with their insurance company and their HOA but that loss coupled with depression sent Dan into a cycle of coping that included addiction ultimately leading to the loss of his job and on New Year's day, his life. This reminds me how important it is for us all to care for our mental health and that of our close friends and family. My heart breaks for this family as Kim struggles to deal with the loss of her husband and best friend. I believe the system failed this family. Kamren, Kaia, and Kim and their entire family deserve so much more.

Dan lost his job as a result of addiction and the family was working on getting him into a program when he passed. I have set up this go fund me to assist with funeral expenses and rebuilding of this family. As is with many families with small children, Dan was the primary bread winner so Kim can use assistance in so many ways. I have also set up a separate bank account at my bank so if people want to save the charges associated with Go fund me then then can direct a check directly to me and I will make sure this family recieves 100 percent of those funds.
