Mexico City Mission Trip and Seek Conference

This upcoming spring break, March 16-21, 2024, I have been given the opportunity to go on a mission trip through the Catholic Student Center at the University of Maryland. The goal of the mission trip is to encounter Christ in the poorest of the poor, from kids living on the streets to the elderly, women, and families living in the trash dumps of Mexico City. These individuals survive with so little and are often treated like the trash they live among.

In Mexico, we will be hosted by Craig Johring, founder of Hope of the Poor. Craig has served the poor and worked with mission groups in Mexico City for over ten years bringing hope to the rejected, lonely, and unloved. While in Mexico, we will also be taking a pilgrimage to Our Lady of Guadalupe at the National Basilica which is the most visited pilgrimage site in the world.

Along with this mission trip, I also hope to attend a Catholic conference this January called Seek. This conference is an opportunity to gather with thousands of college students and together deepen our relationship with Jesus Christ.

Humbly, I ask that you keep me and all the other students whom I will be traveling with in your prayers that we may have safe travels and open hearts to see how the Lord will be working through us during this trip.

In addition to your prayers, I am asking for any financial support you may be able to offer. In order to participate in these two amazing opportunities, I am hoping to raise $2,050 which will cover the cost of housing, food, and transportation for both the mission trip to Mexico and the fee for the Seek conference.
