(This story is from my sister Elsa who started this Gofundme while battling Cancer. She wrote her story and asked me to please update for her and to Thank everyone who donated and to those who continue to donate. She was so Grateful for your thoughtfulness. Thank you so much on her behalf)
My name is Elsa Rosales. I am 40 years old and on July 1, 2020, I was diagnosed with stage 4 pancreatic cancer. I’m a proud mother to 4 amazing kids, Jazmyn (15), Natalie (13), Matthew (5), and Jacob (4). I am blessed to have been given the opportunity of fighting my disease with chemo and many natural supplements. I have been fighting long and hard for my children, and they are my biggest motivation to get up every morning and continue fighting this horrible disease. People have no idea of the magnitude of energy it takes to try and be “normal” with this disease. I continued to work from home to distract me from thinking about this disease. I was also able to fulfill my dreams of helping other while fighting my own fights. Thankfully God placed me in a position where I love what I do. I just really wanted to “BE” and “FEEL” the BEST despite what I was going through. All this would have not been possible without Jr’s (husbands) care, love and support. Without him I really don’t know where I’d be. I also have great support system that I am eternally grateful for. You guys have been there since day 1 and have uplifted me in every way possible. THANK YOU. As of April 21, 2023 upon release of the hospital I was told there was not much that can be done. My pancreatic mass is growing and it’s wrapping itself around a blood vessel that feeds my small intestines. Part of my small intestine is at risk of dying. The surgery option has 80-90% chance I’d bleed out. I understand what’s going on inside me but all I want right now is time, time to play with my kids, time to watch them grow up and much more. I know God is by my side and he won’t leave me. My husband is currently unable to work due to a big rig accident in 2018 that has left him with complications and is still pending a surgery. I want to make this as easy as possible for my family. I wish to finalize my own services to save them a little heartache. I am asking for a small donation. I understand times are hard but even a share would mean a lot. Thank you all in advance.
That was the end of what my Sister wrote on her story. She didn’t mention she was on TPN (temporary nutrition) she was told if she didn’t eat food anymore it might help to avoid her intestines from dying fast, so she did. Since then she ended up in the hospital again on May 10, 2023. Blood circulation was cutting off above her neck when she stood up. She turned purple a few times and after three scares and two 911 calls we rushed her to the hospital. Studies showed she had blood clots in her lungs and one big one on a blood vessel in her neck that lead to her heart. She was placed on blood thinners and after a week she went home. She was able to celebrate special occasions with family and friends but it didn’t last long. Sadly her condition seemed to worsen. She also had arthritis in her left knee, bone on bone but surgery was out of the question due to her Cancer. It was very hard for her to walk until she no longer could anymore. She felt more tired and sick as the days went on. She had an appointment with Doctors from Cedar Sinai via web and they gave her hope of starting a new treatment. As she waited for an appointment she worsened and was admitted to Cedar Sinai ICU on May 31 2023. Her intestinal problem was worse and it was no longer a part of her intestine now it was all of it. Blood flow was minimal to keep her intestines alive. She was a strong women who fought and fought for her kids and family. She fought long and hard until her body couldn’t continue fighting with her anymore. On Saturday June 10 2023, God took her pain and struggles away. Rest in Paradise with Dad who passed away 10 months ago as well.
This Gofundme was created by her for her own services as she knew her end of life would soon come. Please, any help as minimal as it may be is greatly appreciated. Please help my Sister fulfill her last wish. Her services will take place on 7/5/23 - 7/6/23. Also please keep in mind she left behind her 4 children. Thank you from the bottom of our hearts and Thank you on her behalf.
