Support Chase & Family During Leukemia Treatment
Donation protected
My name is Lorraine Casto. I am a friend to 16-year-old Chase Johnson and his family, as well as mom to the partner of his big brother Justin.
As many of you know, Chase was diagnosed last Thursday with Acute Lymphocytic Leukemia (ALL), one of the most common forms of leukemia diagnosed in teens. He started chemotherapy last Friday, the day after he was diagnosed, and will be in the hospital for the next one to two months for this first round of treatment. Mom Cherie is taking unpaid family leave to stay with Chase during this time. After this first round of chemo, Chase will receive additional chemo rounds over the next three years, some outpatient and some inpatient. Chase will also likely be hospital/home-schooling for much of this time to prevent infections.
Chase is in good spirits. I have personally heard him joking in typical Chase style from his hospital bed with his mom and the nurses who are doing an amazing job taking care of him. Brandi, Justin, and Amanda (Justin's partner) are also spending lots of time at the hospital supporting Chase and Cherie.
Many of you have asked how you can help. One way to help is to donate funds to offset Cherie's lost income so the family does not have to worry about finances during this time. Funds donated will go directly to Cherie.
We also plan to provide periodic updates on Chase on this GoFundMe page. Please check it from time to time to see how he is doing.
On behalf of Cherie and the rest of the family, thank you for any financial help you can give during this time!
