Maple Farm Sanctuary Hay & Repairs

Emergency: Help us keep our rescued farm animals fed and safe this winter!
Maple Farm Sanctuary (MFS) is a non-profit sanctuary in Mendon, Massachusetts, that rescues and provides a lifelong home for abused and unwanted farm animals. We currently have more than 100 animal residents, including cows, pigs, goats, llamas, chickens, geese, and ducks.
As the cold weather approaches, MFS is in desperate need of funds to help us prepare for the winter. As usual, we must purchase multiple trailer loads of hay to feed the animals as well as shavings to serve as soft bedding.
This year, we also need to make several critical repairs to our barns to ensure that the animals stay safe and warm as temperatures drop. MFS was previously a third-generation working farm, and many of our buildings are getting old and worn down.
With the help of compassionate animal lovers, we are seeking to raise $30,000 to purchase hay and shavings and make barn repairs. Can you help with a gift? Any amount will make a difference!
As you can see in the video above, your support is very much needed and will go a long way for so many animals at MFS. Your gift will help:
*Purchase 3 trailer loads of hay to feed our hungry residents for $18,000
*Buy 950 bags of shavings to serve as warm bedding for our animals for $5,000
*Pay for $7,000+ worth of essential barn repairs, including:
-repairing the roof above the overhang in our back paddock
-fixing plumbing problems in our small goat barn and large barn
-repairing doors in our small goat barn to ensure snow does not get in
-fixing and replacing numerous broken windows in our large barn
-purchasing a new hay feeder for our back paddock
-replacing the door outside of Boo Boo the cow’s bedroom to keep snow out
Please make your gift now to ensure that our animals have nutritious food in their bellies, warm bedding to lie down on, and a safe and loving home this winter!
The sooner we can purchase supplies and make the repairs, the better! Any money raised above our goal will be put towards the myriad other expenses a non-profit sanctuary incurs, including veterinary costs and additional food and nutrients.
Thank you from the bottom of our hearts to everyone who donates! We are happy to provide the reward levels listed to the right as a token of our gratitude.
About Maple Farm Sanctuary
Maple Farm Sanctuary was founded in 1997 when two former dairy cow and goat farmers, Jim and Cheri Vanderluis, had profound changes of heart and decided to turn their third-generation farm into a sanctuary for rescued animals. MFS provides a lifelong home for abused and abandoned farm animals and also strives to cultivate local interaction through community outreach while advancing a universal message of peace, compassion, and respect for all animals.
