Hello, my name is Karina and I am creating this go fund me to help my brother-in-law Jonathan Roman, to pay for his intensive medical bills, upcoming accommodations, treatments and surgeries that Jonathan will have to undergo in what will be a long road to recovery. Jonathan is a United States Veteran, who has served overseas in Iraq. He is an active community member and has been an EMT/Firefighter for 14 years. Most importantly, Jonathan is a devoted husband and a father to a two-year-old daughter. And while in the hospital, he welcomed a baby girl who is now three months old. 

On September 21, 2022, Jonathan suffered a catastrophic motorcycle accident while on his way to work at the Paterson Fire Department. It is a miracle that he is alive. Jonathan had to be airlifted at the scene to St. Joseph's Medical Center. Due to the trauma, Jonathan lost a significant amount of blood, therefore, undergoing emergency blood transfusions and numerous surgical procedures. 

During this difficult time, my sister (Jonathan's wife) was two months pregnant and raising their one-year-old daughter when she received the horrific news of her husband. Since then, my sister has not been able to work, devote her time to her daughter, and be Jonathan's advocate, while also taking care of her pregnancy. 

Jonathan has been in several hospitals and rehabilitation centers from September 21, 2022, till present day. Unfortunately, Jonathan's insurance is not covering everything at a hundred percent. Therefore, we are trying to raise funds for his medical bills, funds for a wheelchair-accessible vehicle, and funding for ramps to allow access to the wheelchair on the property. 

We appreciate any amount that can be given during this time to help Jonathan recuperate from this unfortunately high medical debt. We are grateful for the first responders, medical staff, doctors, and especially the Paterson Fire Department family, who have supported my sister and Jonathan. We are thankful for our family and friends who have shown so much love and continue to support our family through this journey. Please keep Jonathan in your prayers.
