Orthodontics for Kiyanna
Donation protected
My daughter Kiyanna, who is only 7, is in desperate need for some orthodontics work. Her bottom front teeth are actually cutting the roof of her mouth because her teeth are so misaligned. She is also suffering from lisp that can make it difficult for her to communicate from time to time.
Her orthodontist would like to give her a retainer for the next year with the goal of protecting the roof of her mouth from further damage, and also widening her top jaw a little bit to allow for braces when she's older.
Our fundraising goal is just for this first round of work, but it's a critical round of work because this will alleviate the pain that she's in. She's much too young for most orthodontic work right now, but this will get her on the right path towards healing.
Both of her parents have dental insurance, so that she's double insured, but we were shocked to discover that NEITHER insurance covered orthodontic work of any kind. Apparently, the orthodontic coverage had been dropped awhile ago and we weren't informed. Because of that, we weren't prepared for this size of a bill.
On April 19th we're paying to have the molds of her teeth created, making time an issue right now.
Any help that you can spare will be greatly appreciated by me, Kiyanna, and our family. Thank you very much for taking the time to look!
