MG-21: A Trip To Remember

Hi. My name is Gene Delcourt and I am fundraising so that 15 people from our High School, (called MG-21) can go to the Pine Ridge Indian Reservation to work with an organization called Re-Member. Re-Member is a non secular organization, committed to assisting the citizens of the Pine Ridge reservation by helping to build wheelchair ramps, do home repairs, skirt mobile homes, etc.

Re-Member is not a "fly by night" organization, here today and gone tomorrow. They have been doing their work on Pine Ridge for 25 years and have developed lasting relationships with the Oglala Lakota people. I have taken high school classes there 15 times since 2008.

MG-21 is a project-based learning environment where students get to have a meaningful say in what they learn and how they learn it. Student led, teacher-led and community-led projects give our students an eclectic variety of learning opportunities and a trip to Re-Member, on Pine Ridge, in South Dakota is just one of the unique ways in which our young people can share in doing altruistic work.
