Here is my story I feel like I owe you all an explanation about what is going on in my life. After all of the wonderful kindness everyone has shown to me. Here it is. So I was looking forward to 2021 being a better year after what year 2020 threw at us. It started off by me slipping on my icy concrete front steps and hurting my back pretty bad. I am tough though so I was trying to tough it out like always. Shortly after the relationship I was in ended after a year and a half. So now a broken heart and a hurt back.. Ok so back to the fall story. The pain finally got to where it was too much so I went to the hospital to get it looked at. They did x-rays and noticed I crushed a vertebrae in my back. They also noticed a large mass in my abdomen. So from there a whole lot of things started to happen. I had to get an MRI and CT scans biopsies back surgery. One thing led to another and they found out I have cancer. Shortly after from the cold weather the water pipes in my house busted not once but twice and flooded my basement. Later my car broke down. All this happening to finally try to nail down what kind of cancer I have. They think they have nailed it down to stage 4 Gastric Cance/stomach cancer. Today was my first chemo treatment day at CHI Cancer Center in Grand Island. I have never been this scared in my life. I am not looking for pity or handouts. I just felt my story needed to be told to all the people who care about me. All I ask for is prayers to help me through this because my faith is definitely being tested at this time. I do need to say today is the first time I have felt a sense of hope about all that is going on. This came after all the kind words and thoughts and prayers from so many family and friends and all the medical staff that have helped me. I have no words to explain how truly thankful I am. I know everyone is dealing with a lot right now from the last year and I am praying for healing and comfort to all. This is my journey now like I said im not looking for pity or handouts just prayers and thoughts of strength as I fight this. Just so you know I never had any signs until after the fall that anything was wrong with me. I guess it has been there for some time. Everyone says it is kind of a blessing in a weird way that I fell so it led to them finding this. Now I have a little chance to fight it. It is hard to stay positive through all of this but with so many people behind me I know I need to fight for myself and all the wonderful people in my life. Thank you all from the bottom of my heart for giving me strength to fight this. All my love to you as I only hope for the best things in life for everyone. #cancerfighter #cancerawareness
