Shannon's Story
Hi,
My name is Jamie Randle. My sister, Shannon Moody, was diagnosed with Multiple Myeloma in June. It is a rare, aggressive form of blood cancer. Shannon began chemo a month ago and will continue to do so for the rest of her life. She is an emergency room trama nurse at the University of Mississippi Medical Center. She has been a front line worker through the pandemic. She has two daughters and is married to Shaun Moody, a fire captain/paramedic in Flowood, Mississippi. Shannon is scheduled to have a stemcell transplant at the Unversity of Mississippi Medical Center within the next few weeks. The cost of the transplant will be $250-$500,000. Insurance will cover some medical expenses, but they will have additional expenses including medical bills and other unexpected costs associated with her cancer treatment.
My hope is they will not be burdened by the stress of these expenses by receiving donations from family and their huge support system of friends. I am organizing this fundraiser to hopefully offset the many future financial obigations ahead of them. I am humbled by the overwhelming love, support, gifts and meals they have received. Thank you to everyone who has been a part of her journey. I am so grateful for each and every one of you! God Bless!
