Matt Hetherington WTTC Campaign
Donation protected
Matt Hetherington is a New Zealand national table tennis player currently based at Lily Yip Table Tennis Center in New Jersey, USA.
Matt has been playing table tennis since the age of 8, but was only able to start training seriously just before he turned 19. At 20 he represented NZ in the U21 and Men's Singles at the Oceania Championships, the following year he was in the men's team at the Australian Open.
In 2013 he was diagnosed with an auto-immune disorder and despite the many challenges his love for table tennis helped him continue to fight for his goals. This opportunity is a lifelong dream which he has worked very hard for.
2015 saw him return to NZ to place 2nd equal in the national team trial and he earned selection for the 2016 World Championships and Oceania Championships.
Most of the travel and accommodation for these trips will be self funded and so Matt is looking for as much support as possible.
He will need to raise money to cover flights and accomodation for both events which are in KL, Malaysia and Bendigo, Australia along with costs for additional training and tournaments in the buildup to the event.
Matt will be working harder than ever to perform well and has thought hard about how he can reward those who help him.
$100 donation: Free 1.5 hour lesson with Matt (at LYTTC)
$300 donation: 6 month ad placement on Matt's website mhtabletennis.com
Highest (X number of) donations: International Player shirts (Crisan, Korbel, Madrid, Samsonov, Assar, possibly more to add)
Any donation over $10 will go in the draw to win a sheet of Butterfly Tenergy (2 to give away, winners can choose type and colour).
The WTTC is at the end of February so this campaign will aim to raise the $5000 target by February 28.
Your support, whether big or small will be hugely appreciated by Matt. As many of you know he has worked incredibly hard to try and sustain himself in the sport he truly loves.
