Miah is a 27-year-old single mother of 2 beautiful children; Kamilah who is 6 and Kaleo who is 4. She is a business owner but most importantly a wonderful daughter, sister, & mother. Recently her world was turned upside down on June 14, 2023. She was diagnosed with Stage 4 Hodgkins Lymphoma. Unfortunately due to the stage, the cancer is progressed to, it has now spread to her lymph nodes, spleen, and liver. We are anticipating a rough but promising battle.
Miah moved to the Chicagoland area less than 2 years ago to build a better life for herself and her children. She has spent years expanding her brand and her business. Since her diagnosis, Miah has begun aggressive chemotherapy treatment. Given the intensity of her treatments, Miah's employment and her income have become unpredictable. Due to the aggressive nature of the chemotherapy, working may become an obstacle for her. Unfortunately, this is a time in her life when she will need to take a step back and focus on herself and her health.
Miah began her first round of chemotherapy on July 20, 2023. It is round 1/12. She is (god willing) anticipating her chemotherapy to continue until December 21, 2023. She is attempting to continue to work to continue to provide for her children. Although her battle will be long and rough. We are unsure of how her body will react to the aggressive treatment. Rosie, Miah's mom has been by her side every step of the way and taking care of her through this extremely difficult time in their lives.
Any donation would be a tremendous help in ensuring Miah and her children can get through her chemotherapy treatments with peace of mind. All funds will go toward her home, suite rental, medical expenses and monthly expenses needed to ensure she and her children are secure. Thank you.
For those who do not know me, I am Miah's sister-in-law, Michelle, it took a lot of convincing but I finally got Miah to agree to some help. Miah is very strong-willed and independent. Getting her to agree to this type of help was not an easy task. It took a lot of vulnerability and acceptance of the state of her health for her to say yes. Thank you from the bottom of our hearts.
