Miami #BlackPantherChallenge

Donation protected
The #BlackPantherChallenge is an initiative launched by Frederick Joseph to raise money to take Harlem children to see Black Panther in theaters. He has opened the call for others nationwide to join in and start a GoFundMe in their community to take more kids to watch Black Panther in the theater. It is my understanding that nearly 100 campaigns around the United States have raised over $100,000, helping thousands of kids see the movie later this month. Donations have come in from all 50 states and 15 countries around the world.

My name is Gerald Pierre, and I am an attorney who grew up in South Florida and works there today.

It is my goal to raise funds to give Miami-Dade County, Florida children the same opportunity to see Black Panther in theaters. As noted in campaigns around the country, Black Panther is an event that gives people of color, most importantly children of color, a chance to see themselves as the main hero/super hero.

Funds will be used to purchase movie tickets and refreshments (KidsPack) for the children and occasionally tickets for chaperones depending on the size of the group. (I would like to take the first group of children to the movie on February 18th.) So long as there is money in the account and the movie is in the theaters, I will be working with the community so that children of color have this opportunity. Of course, I will be posting updates, showing how your hard-earned dollars are being used.

Thank you for your support.
