Miami Punk Rock High Reunion
Hi, my name is Richard Shelter.
> As a lot of you know, I founded the Cameo Theater as a music venue in the 80s. I also created Flynn’s on the Beach, 27 Birds in Coconut Grove & The Blitz in Hialeah. Back then I produced hundreds of concerts by rock, punk, new wave & alternative bands from all over the world. And I gave exposure to almost all the original bands of Miami at that time…
> Now my friends & I are working on a screenplay & book project about “Life in Miami in the 80s” and the 80s Miami music scene. We want to tell the story of what it was like to live in that empty pastel ghost town. And to tell that story through the eyes of some of the amazing characters that passed thru that city at that time.
AND > ALL OF YOU WHO WERE THERE <
ALL OF YOU will provide the anecdotes, the dialogue & the stories of 80s Miami.
--------------
We are asking for crowd funding contributions to do the following:
First > create an archive office with a small staff for a few months to do web design, scanning and archiving ALL of our memorabilia into ONE DEFINITIVE SITE. Something that will continue to grow & be there for years to come.
Second > produce a major Reunion Weekend next year April 1st & 2nd of next year, with multiple events:
> Storytellers Night
> 80s Club Night
> Cameo Punk Reunion Night
HELP US MAKE ALL THIS POSSIBLE.
HELP US PRESERVE THE HISTORY OF THAT VERY REMARKABLE TIME.
> We will offer 'Limited Edition' MIAMI PUNK ROCK HIGH T-shirts & stickers, actual 80s tickets & memorabilia, and ADVANCE TICKETS to the reunion shows as a thank you for your contribution.

If you went to the Cameo, the Button, Churchill’s, the Agora, Flynn’s, Summer’s, 27 Birds, Tobacco Road, Finder’s, the New Wave Lounge, Fire & Ice, Tight Squeeze, the Blitz, Treehouse or Rollo’s….
THIS IS YOUR STORY. THIS IS YOUR PROJECT.
