Mia's battle with Leukaemia

Hi all,

I am writing to you on behalf of my cousin Mia Preston. At 21 years of age, Mia has been unexpectedly diagnosed with Leukaemia. As you can imagine, this has been a shock for our family.

Maleny is a place our family has called home for many years. Mia is no stranger to our community, having completed her early years of schooling here and previously working alongside her grandparents, Paul and Paula Preston, the faces behind Saintsational Sausages.

As they say, it takes a village to raise a child. It also takes a village to nurture someone through sickness back to health. Mia's medical treatment is taking place interstate. The reality of cost of living, medical, and travel expenses is quickly setting in. The hardest part of watching someone you love go through something, is not being able to fix them. We are calling on our village, our beautiful Maleny community and beyond to support Mia through her journey back to health.

Mia is an absolute trooper. There are many months of this battle ahead, yet Mia's bravery and positive attitude in the face of her diagnosis have kept all of our spirits high. We appreciate any donation; every bit helps and we are so grateful for the love and support we have received thus far.
