Micah Needs Your Help: A Home for Mom

Hi! My name is Micah and I am creating this GoFundMe to help raise money for my mother and me to live in an apartment in Houston, Texas. I hope you will take a moment to read my story.

I will graduate from West Texas A&M University in Canyon, Texas in May 2025. I plan to relocate to my hometown in Houston, Texas after graduation. My main reason for moving back to Houston is my mother. She lives in poor conditions, with water damage, pests, mold, and holes/damage. The house she lives in is owned by my uncle, who doesn't want to repair/fix the problems in the house. And since my mother is unable to work due to health issues, she's forced to stay in that house since it provides her a place to sleep at night. My uncle knows about these conditions that she's living in but refuses to make a change. I want to get her out of this situation as soon as I finish school. However, I need help to make this happen.

As a full-time college student, I can only work 14-16 hours a week. I am looking for another job to help me save for the move, but right now I am struggling. It's been hard for me to focus on my academics while trying to get my mom out of this situation. I am hoping that this fundraiser can help. With the money from this fundraiser, I will get a two-bedroom apartment for my mother and me and buy mattresses, furniture, and other necessities for our apartment.
