Micah’s nicu stay

Our sweet boy came into this world on 7/31 and since, it has been quite the journey. He came out with trouble breathing, his body didn’t make enough coating to keep his lungs clear, he ended up having fluid in his lungs, and because of this, his already weakened left lung collapsed. I didn’t get that golden hour like every mom looks forward to, he was evaluated and taken straight to the nicu. I didn’t get to see him for 8ish hours, but his dad was right by his side as much as he could be. At first it was a few cords and grunting, but now it’s a jungle of cords and the machines keep multiplying. Baby Micah has a chest tube and is now on a ventilator where he seems to be doing better. We ask for prayers and that you don’t stop praying. As far as when he will be able to come home, that’s unknown but it could be plus or minus 2 weeks looking more like a little bit over 2 weeks, Its based on his needs. We applied for the Ronald McDonald foundation to help us have a place to stay while he’s in the nicu, but there’s a waiting list and it will take a bit to hear back, so we are asking for donations to help us out with our 2 hour commute to and from the hospital and with food. We made a separate cashapp for this specifically and once we have enough to get us through this nicu stay we will be deleting the account. I have a hard time asking for help and wouldn’t be asking such a big thing unless it was serious.
