UPDATE: I cannot put into words the appreciation this family has for the community support and love that has come through this fundraising effort.

When I started this, no one had any idea of what was to come. In reality, the family still doesn't know, but the medical bills are starting to pour in and Peter is realizing that after his surgery, he will probably be out longer than he hoped. As Peter does, he is worried about his family and his staff family while recovering from this accident. I have changed the gofundme goals in hopes of helping them financially make it through this difficult time. There is no other way to put it. Whether you can donate something to the fund or send a prayer, each and every way you help this family is appreciated. What happened:

On Christmas evening, my friends Shannon and Peter Micali and his mom were heading home from a family Christmas gathering when they were involved in a horrific accident on I64. In trying to avoid a reckless driver on the interstate, they flipped their car multiple times and went into a revene.

Why I'm fundraising

By the grace of God, everyone survived after being cut out of the car and taken to the hospital. However, their struggle is just beginning.

The name may sound familiar to many New Kent and Williamsburg families as Peter and Shannon own Bellissimo in Williamsburg. Yes, the pizza that has become a part of so many of our family gatherings and social events. Now, this small business family needs your help. Currently, Peter is in surgery and the functioning of the pizzeria is unknown at this moment. We all know Peter and his determination to overcome anything, but the financial hardship that this family is about to endure is unimaginable.

The impact of your support

I am writing to ask if there is anything you may be able to donate to help the family out with the bills and medical expenses that they are taking on. Your donation will go directly to the family and help them stay afloat as they take care of themselves and their medical expenses in order to get back to taking care of us in the restaurant industry again.
