Michael A. Kreiner Memorial Fund

While my mom was in the hospital struggling to recover from surgery to remove a malignant tumor, my mother and our family were forced to face a devastating experience that would change our lives forever.
My oldest brother, Michael Anthony Kreiner, who fought daily with his mental illness, lost his fight on Sunday, September 10th, 2017. It was a battle far greater than anything I could ever understand in this life. As his younger sister, I watched first hand as he wrestled with his demons, medications, hospitals, doctors and treatments. His struggles managed to destroy almost every part of his life. As I sat holding my mom's hand at the hospital, we sobbed as her heart was broken with the loss of her first born son. I could feel the heaviness and immense sorrow, which added to my own.
Our deep loss of Michael has also made me think about how many other families suffer in a similar way each day. How many feel helpless under these tragic circumstances? Unfortunately, over 8 million individuals lose their lives each year to mental illness, suicide and addictions. There must be more that we can do as families than stand by and watch. I want to help my family through this tragedy and pain, as well as others. Any donations you can help us with will be used to help my family with the costs of Michael's funeral and will go towards the awareness of mental illness and the promotion of mental wellness. With the love of all of us, we can make the M.A.K. Fundraiser a healing experience for everyone!!
With love,
Karina Kreiner
