In loving memory of Michael Baxter

Hi everyone, my name is Sheila King. I am fundraising on behalf of my nephew, Brandon Baxter. On December 18, 2023, Brandon received a call that his dad, Michael Baxter, at the young age of 61, had suffered a massive stroke caused by a blood clot on his brain. He was rushed to Sunrise hospital in Las Vegas, Nevada, where he underwent emergency surgery to remove the blood clot. The clot and stroke left Michael with severe brain damage, and the prognosis of him recovering was very slim. Brandon, who lives in Kentucky, traveled to Las Vegas to be with his dad, and was at his bedside through Christmas and New Years holiday.

Michael was placed on life support December 26th, and passed away January 5th of 2024. Michael was an amazing man who grew up in Las Vegas. He had family and friends in the Las Vegas area, and will be missed by all that knew him. Brandon is his only child, and the unexpected loss of his father has been devastating. Brandon is a single father with 2 young sons in Kentucky. He has had to take a leave of absence from work in Kentucky to be with his dad in Las Vegas. I am humbly asking assistance for my nephew to cover end of life costs for his dad, including cremation, celebration of life/memorial service, legal expenses for his estate, travel costs for Brandon to get back home, and any other expenses related to his dad’s passing.

No one can plan for such an abrupt and sudden loss, and although money won’t fill the void left by losing his dad, the goal is to help Brandon get through this without having to worry about the costs of taking care of his dad during this difficult time. No amount is too small, and all donations are greatly appreciated. We also welcome and appreciate the thoughts and prayers of all.
