Michael Brownell Memorial Fund

To honor our friend and co-worker Michael Brownell, we're starting this campaign to support his family during this very difficult time. Mike was an important part of the Chicago One Team. He joined the NBC family a few seasons ago and quickly made himself indispensable. He worked mainly on Chicago Fire but pitched in with Med and PD whenever he was needed. Mike was a friendly presence around base camp, always polite and helpful and he made fast friends in Transportation.
Mike loved being handy and working on cars. He built cars for shows with his two sons, and he was very proud of his El Camino and GT Convertible and won awards for his work. Mike also dragged race with his friends and used his mechanical know-how to contribute to our crew in immeasurable ways.
Above everything else, Mike loved his family and he showered them with gifts and affection. Throwing big parties for his boys brought him so much joy. Mike leaves behind his wife Erica and their two sons RJ and Jacob, 5 and 10 years old.
He is already missed.
