***Update*** Thank you everyone for being so amazing. I am SO grateful to have you for my friends & family. Everything is pretty much taken care of at this point. Anything left over after this is all said and done will go to Michael's twin brother, Gabriel for his college fund/expenses. Again, I am so grateful for each and every one of you.
The weekend after finishing 5th grade, Michael was hit by a truck when crossing the street. We didn't think he would make it but the little guy was a fighter and hung on for 8 long years.
When his accident happened 8 years ago, we didn't know what to expect. He had severe traumatic brain injury which left him unable to eat, walk, talk, or move his body along with internal organ damage.
The last 8 years have been filled with doctor's visits, painful therapy sessions, botox shots to try to get his muscles to relax, and countless other medical procedures. It has been hard on everyone and his twin brother, Gabriel and big brother Christian were so young when it happened. They've spent these years watching their brother in pain. I can't imagine what this has been like for them.
Saturday night (March 27), Michael was having seizures and running a high fever, as had happened a few times before. Usually, he pulls out of these "episodes". Not this time.
He passed away at approximately 7:30 pm.
We are all so sad to see him go but are also relieved that he is no longer in pain. Before the accident, Michael was a spunky little man with tons of attitude and a heart as big as Dallas.
He loved the outdoors, camping, fishing, kayaking, going to the beach. He loved his kitties and his Nintendo games. He was a great student and was active in the school plays. Michael LOVED music and played the violin and was learning the guitar.
Many of our friends and family have reached out to help so I started this Go Fund Me to help with his final expenses.
Services will be held on Thursday, April 1st at 4:00-6:00 pm at Church Funeral in Walker, LA. To send flowers, the address is 9422 Florida Blvd, Walker, LA 70785.
Only 15-20 people are allowed in the chapel at one time but if you are planning to attend, people will be coming and going.
I appreciate everyone and thank you so much to all of my friends and family who have been there for me through all of this. I love you all.
