Help Support MICHAEL FANONE - a Great American Hero and Defender of Democracy
It’s been two years since January 6th, 2021 when violent insurrectionists nearly destroyed our democracy.
Former DC Metropolitan Police Department Officer Michael Fanone was one of the patriotic heroes that bravely held the line that day. He self-deployed to defend our Capitol from the murderous mob and almost lost his life protecting our elected officials and the peaceful transfer of power. Pulled into the frenzied, armed crowd, Mike suffered a heart attack, a violent beating, a traumatic brain injury and severe, ongoing PTSD.
Having been an undercover officer, Fanone’s anonymity was blown and he was unable to return to the job he dedicated his life to and loved so much. For simply telling the truth about what happened on that horrific day, Mike was threatened and harassed by fellow officers and former friends when he returned from medical leave. This forced him to walk away from a twenty-year career with the DC Metro Police department, without pension or benefits.
Since then, Mike has only been able to find part-time work as an analyst on CNN. This provides no benefits or healthcare coverage for him and his family. At every job he’s applied for since January 6th, Mike’s been told that, while he is a hero, he is “too polarizing a figure” for them to offer him employment.
Mike receives death threats daily and, traumatically, his mother and young daughters have as well. He is followed, heckled and stalked, accused of being a “crisis actor” by those who seek to bury the truth of what radical extremists did that day. Mike has nonetheless boldly continued to publicly speak out about what he lived through on January 6th and warn us that the threat to our democracy is still a clear and present danger.
Mike Fanone is also deeply loved and respected by people across the country and all around the world. His heroism, bravery, patriotism and honesty are inspirational and embody what is best about our nation.
Just this past week at the White House, on the second anniversary of the January 6th riot, President Joe Biden personally presented Mike Fanone the Presidential Citizens Medal, among the highest national honors bestowed to those who “performed exemplary deeds of service for their country or their fellow citizens.”
Now it’s our turn to express thanks to Mike for his bravery and sacrifice that has cost him and his family so very much. This is your opportunity to stand with this great American that stood up for all of us. To honor and assist a true hero.
Most of all, Mike wants a good job — one that allows him to provide for his four beautiful daughters. He seeks to rebuild the life that was taken from him. He is not someone that wants charity, nor has he ever taken it.
This fund is not charity. It is a way you can personally say thank you to Mike right now; to give back to one of our country’s bravest — a fierce defender of truth and democracy who refused and refuses to stay quiet, even though it cost him everything.
Please join us in honoring Mike and showing your gratitude by contributing anything you can. This fund will all go directly to him.
And please never forget Mike Fanone and the other brave men and women who held the line for us on January 6th and kept our great American democracy from falling.
Thank you!
