Last Thursday was just an ordinary day for most people, but for one family it turned out to be a day that would shatter their lives forever.
Mike left for Benidorm with his mates on the Wednesday morning for a 'lads holiday'. Later that evening, he died alone from injuries sustained from an horrific accident that no one could have forseen, at the tender age of 21yrs.
As you can imagine, his mum Kath, dad Paul, stepmum Janet, brothers and sisters - Robert, Sarah, Joseph and Elisabeth are absolutely bereft, as well as other family members and Mike's numerous amount of friends.
Many people have expressed that they would like to do something for the family - just to show that they are being thought about and to let them know just how special their boy was to so many people, and that the deepest of sympathies are felt for them at this extremely difficult and sad time of their lives.
No words or actions will ever be enough to piece their world back together again because a piece will always be missing. However, as the family travel to Benidorm this week to be with their boy and finalise the legalities of repatriating him back to the UK, and then having a funeral to arrange, this is all going to add up to a serious amount of money. If we can help to ease the pressure, even by a minuscule, I think everybody will feel that they are doing something for the family rather than feeling so useless.
So, please donate any amount you can to show his family and friends that they are not alone, and we are here for them to do what we can in their hour of need.
*****************UPDATE******************
All money raised will be withdrawn to my bank account ( this is the preference of Paul and Kath and they have given their permission) and then transferred to the relevant people including Silletts Funeral directors and Little Lever cricket club for the wake. Any remaining money will then be split equally between Paul and Kath to either pay towards Michael's repatriation bill or for some sort of memorial to Michael. Thanks for all your generous donations.
