Michael Jonsson Get Well
The latest on Michael:
These are difficult times.
For those who have met and know Michael, he is the pinnacle of health! He eats well (he considers walnuts an after dinner treat), walks the dogs 3 x day, bikes 3 x week and tries to play tennis (but I still kick his a**).
I was in Denmark as my mother was back in hospital back home in Denmark, when I received a call on Feb 5th that would forever change our lives. Michael had a heart attack and needed a quadruple by-pass. He's 54 years old, super healthy (cholesterol couldn't be better), razor sharp and the most fit person I know.
What we thought was going to be a hard road quickly became a nightmare. He had complications that the doctors told us happens only once in a blue moon ..and only one set-back...no multiple set-backs!. Not all of them. After the by-pass it took 3 additional major surgeries and a couple of minor ones to combat the heart disease, collapsed lung and pneumonia, food poisoning multiple infections including a rampant staph infection that we are battling with as I write this.
The idea that this was to be a 4 day stay was scary enough. We departed the hospital at the 6-week mark, with the condition that I watch him 24/7 for 2 1/2 weeks. How lucky am I, to have the chance to spend ANY time with him?!
Our insurance is great and we got it through C.A.R just this past Jan 1st. Good thing too - because his bills are over $2M!! What we weren't expecting, however, was Michael getting lost in a buy-out of the company he works for and not only weren't able to pay him his full salary but had to let him go. I have been taking care of my mother and now Michael for the past 8 weeks and haven't been able to work. We are in a major financial jam that I KNOW we will get out of, but will need help to get bills paid for a couple of months!
Sincerely,
Cathinka and Michael Jonsson
These are difficult times and as I write this, Michael is going in for a lung surgery.
For those who have met and know Michael, he is the pinnacle of health! Eats well (he considers walnuts an after dinner treat), walks the dogs 3 x day, bikes 3 x week and tries to play tennis (but I still kick his ***).
While I was in Denmark attending to my ailing mother in hospital back home in Denmark I received a call that would forever change our lives. Michael has had a heart attack and requires a quintuple by-pass. He's 54 years old, healthy (cholesterol couldn't be better), razor sharp and the most fit person I know.
What we thought was going to be a hard road quickly became a nightmare. He had complications that only the nurses say happens once in a while...only one or the other thing might happen. Not all of them. Heart disease, infections, pneumonia. Supposed to be a 4 day stay and we are working on our 4th week....hospital food is getting old!!
Our insurance is amazing but what we weren't expecting was Michael getting lost in a buy-out of his company and they are in arrears in paying him his salary. I have been taking care of my mother and now Michael for the past 6 weeks and haven't been able to work. We are in a major financial jam that I KNOW we will get out of, but will need help to get bills paid for a couple of months!
We'd love to see our dear old Michael back on his feet - even if it entails suffering through his to his 80's music choices.
