Michael Kennedy Funeral Fund

Michael Kennedy was my assistant still builder at Thunder Road Copper in New Tazewell, TN. He passed away this morning, March 9th, 2022, from complications of having Covid-19. He had been with me for almost a year and said on many occasions that “this was the best job he ever had”. I never looked at building stills as a job and I know he didn’t either. Not once did I have to ask why he wasn’t at work until he caught the virus. Even then he was still wanting to come in to build. He caught the virus on Jan 20th and after three weeks he ended up being admitted to the hospital. He fought for another three weeks while on a ventilator and being sedated most of that time. It looked like he was getting better until just four days ago when they had to put him back on a ventilator. Thankfully he was able to be visited by his fiancé, Jessica Lakin, just before he passed. He leaves her and two young boys, Braden, 5 and Payton, 3, behind. They have dearly missed their dad these last several weeks and will be lost for quite a long time to come. I challenge each one of you in our Moonshine family or as a good and generous person to donate at least $1. A goal of $5000 was set and I’m sure all would be very grateful if we could blow right past the goal so that we can help his fiancé with the unexpected funeral expenses and any funds above and beyond that will be used to set up an account to help his boys as they grow older without their father to provide for them. At this time Jessica has a funeral expenses of nearly $2000 to take care of and receive his remains. Please donate generously to help his family in this most desperate time of need.
