Michael Leising Memorial Scholarship
Donation protected
It is with a heavy heart that we said goodbye to Mike. Per his will, he requested to have a scholarship established in his name to help young men from Royalton-Hartland High School pursue their ambitions. This fundraiser will help with the initial installment to establish the Michael Leising Memorial Scholarship starting with the graduating class of 2024.
Michael James Leising was a devoted Christian, a caring husband, father, son, brother, uncle, godparent, and friend. He left this world suddenly and entered his heavenly rest on May 21, 2023, at the age 40.
He was born on September 6, 1982. After graduating in 2000 from Royalton-Hartland High School in Middleport, New York, Mike joined the Navy as a sonar technician. During his time in San Diego, he met his wife, Carrie Almond and they had one daughter, Laurel.
Mike was survived by his parents, James and Lori Leising. His two brothers, Scott (Jesse) Leising, and Andrew (Andrea) Leising. His father-in-law, Burt (Sharon) Almond. His mother-in-law, Susan Almond. His step-sister-in-law, Shannon Moffett. He was also blessed having three nephews, and six nieces.
Mike was an avid sportsman and enjoyed traveling, hunting, camping, and attending sporting events. He always rooted for the New York Yankees, the Buffalo Bills, and the University of Texas Longhorns. He had a sweet tooth and enjoyed spending time honing his skills in the kitchen and on the grill. Mike was good working with his hands, and he followed his dream as a proud owner of Britt’s Diesel. As busy as he was, he constantly found time to help those in need.
