Good mornin everyone….Coffee is ready….Love you all…..Hug a little tighter.
For all of us who knew Mike, every morning we woke up to that phrase from Mike on his Facebook page. Except on Thursday, February 11, 2021.
Michael passed away on February 10th from a massive heart attack. Just that morning he was out to breakfast with his daughter Paula for an early birthday breakfast. The prior Saturday, he found out he would have a new grandson in July. He was so excited to be a grandpa. Finally something happy in Mike’s life - he would soon be getting baby hugs. You see, he'd had a very rough couple of years.
Mike had lost his job in September of 2019. He worked in the printing industry for 40 years. Finding a new job at 63 would not be easy. In November of 2019, he lost his daughter Nikki unexpectedly at the age of 21. Mike’s world was crumbling. Then the pandemic hit in March of 2020. Finding a new job was now impossible. Unemployment ran out. In November 2020, he lost his brother Robert after a long battle with colon cancer at the age of 61. Somehow, with everything going on, Mike managed to stay positive and always just wanted to make us laugh. He was graced with amazing - and sometimes inappropriate - sarcasm. I will miss his Shop Rite stories and will make sure to complain every time I go there. He was one of a kind.
We are setting up this GoFundMe page to help Michael's family raise money for funeral costs. We ask for anyone who can donate to donate what you can – even if it is just the price of a cup of coffee.
Thank you for being our friend Mike. And thank you for being the brother I never had. I will always make sure I tell everyone I love them and to hug a little tighter. When we meet again, I’ll bring the cannoli’s, you bring the coffee. Luv ya Mike.
