2026 WINTER OLYMPICS
THE LAST BATTLE
AIMING TO BE THE FIRST
Hi everyone.
I am Michael Christian Martinez, a two-time Winter Olympian and the first figure skater from Southeast Asia to qualify and compete in the Winter Olympic Games and Youth Winter Olympic Games.
The 2022 Winter Olympics may have already ended, but for me, this is just the start of a new beginning. A unique opportunity to continue what I started. New hope, new strength to strive for my dreams and bring glory to our country.
And that is why I have decided to enter my last battle. I am now aiming for my 3rd Winter Olympics - the 2026 Winter Olympics. It's going to be a long journey again. But I am confident I will have enough time to prepare for my last battle.
My journey since day one has always been rough and difficult. Full of struggles and challenges, belittling, criticisms and scarcity of funding. Bruises after bruises, injuries after injuries, pain after pain. Behind that landed Triple Axel in the competition are countless bruises and falls, and behind that Biellmann Spin is an excruciating back pain. But despite all of these, I am here, still fighting. I am standing and persevering.
I always tell myself, "Never give up. Do your best, so there will be no regrets at the end of that day." And this is what I am doing now. Moving forward.
Join me on my journey, and let's aim to be the first.
To be the first-ever Filipino to land a quadruple jump in a competition. Also, to be the first-ever Filipino to qualify for the Olympics three times. How about an Olympic medal? Anything is possible; we decide what to strive for and fight for.
But I cannot do this alone. So in this four-year battle, I am humbly approaching you to join me again for the last time. One last push. One last chance. One last hope. Let's bring glory to our motherland. Let's prove that we, a tropical nation, can also excel in Winter Sports.
Sincerely,
Michael Martinez

The fundraising goal is not the total amount needed for the four years of training and competition but will significantly help me on my journey to reach the 2026 Winter Olympics, which may also change over time. Training and living expenses usually range from $10,000 to $16,000 per month, depending on the training country. Competition expenses range from $3000 to $7000 depending on the country where the competition is held.
The amount will be withdrawn weekly and used as we move towards 2026.
