Michael (Mike) Paolucci Recovery

This gofundme has been created on behalf of our brother, Mike Paolucci.

After several months of recurring sickness, Mike was admitted to KU Medical ICU in Kansas City, KS on Saturday, January 28th for kidney and liver failure. It was determined on Sunday, January 29th, that Mike's liver was past the point of saving and would require a liver transplant, however, several steps would need to be taken before he could qualify for the transplant. The first step was to get the kidneys working again, which required several rounds of dialysis - and was a success! Over the last several days, doctors have worked to ensure Mike's vitals and labs returned closer to normal, and we received the amazing news that he qualified for the liver transplant list on 2/1/2023. Doctors have shared that once all approval goes through, the process for the transplant should be quick because of Mike's immediate need, but we do know that it is going to require time, patience, recovery, and lots of medical bills.

Mike's Mom and Dad, Jane and Chuck, have been by his side constantly since his hospital admission. All proceeds from this fundraiser will go directly to Mike, and will assist him and his family with medical bills that he will incur from his hospital stay, surgeries, and costs for treatment after he can return home.

We will try to keep this page updated as much as we can as we get more news on Mike's progress with the transplant and recovery. Mike has always done so much for his friends and family, and we want to do whatever we can to help ease the stress that will come during this time. Thank you!
