Update:
For those of you following Michael's health. Here is the most recent things discovered. Michael and i went down to UCSF to meet with the Nuerosurgical Oncologist Dr. Mitchel Burger. (The doctor he was referred to for his "Brain Cancer/ Resection of his tumor.) To Our Suprise Dr.Burger reviewed the Pathology slides that were taken during Michael's Biopsy, He stated that he wanted to get one last confirmation from one of the top Nueropathologist there at UCSF before giving us the news. After confirmation, Michael was told he does not have Brain Cancer like first initially told by his Enlor Nuerosurgeon He in fact has Demylinating MS.
CONFIRMED BY 3 UCSF Nueropathologist. Where the mistake was made was the tissues are inflamed causing cluster of tissue resembling a brain tumor but the tissue doesnt lie, in fact it told a totally different story. Michael will be following Nuerology and MS specialist here locally. Confirmed today he does not have AA3 like he was first initially told! He is thankfully cancer free but now has another battle to fight.

Michael Montano is a newlywed, a beloved son, and a paramedic from Paradise, CA. On Tuesday 11, 2018 Michael and his partner were involved in an accident in their ambulance. The airbags deployed causing Michael to hit his head against the window. Michael was taken to Enloe Medical Center for evaluation where the ER doctors ordered a CT scan of his head. The CT revealed an area suspicious for a brain bleed, so the doctors ordered MRIs to further evaluate. The MRIs revealed at least one brain tumor. Neurosurgeons then got involved and scheduled a biopsy for more answers. Sept 16th Michael and family celebrated his 35thbirthday in the hospital while prepping for his biopsy the following day. Monday September 17ththe biopsy went well, Michael was alert and talking shortly after surgery. He did have some paralysis around his mouth causing him to have a crooked smile for a few days but happily that has mostly resolved. Unfortunately the biopsy results indicate that Michael has cancer. He has been referred to UCSF where he will meet the team that is going to help him fight this battle that will include further scans, surgical removal of the tumor and perhaps chemotherapy and radiation. Thankfully the tumor was discovered before Michael experienced any serious symptoms. His Enloe neurosurgeon feels that discovering the tumor early substantially improves his prognosis. Unfortunately, the tumor is located in a difficult place to perform surgery without affecting his speech or mobility. Michael and Amanda have a long road ahead of them and will face loss of wages, travel expenses (Paradise, CA to San Francisco, CA = 184 miles one way) and medical expenses. Please donate if you can and please share Michael’s story.
