UPDATE:  Thank you! The overwhelming response has helped us reach the initial contribution amount! Michael's medical bills far exceed the modest amount we are attempting to raise; his need is real and urgent. WHAT THIS IS FOR:  Whether you are a media specialist who had the magical experience of having him in your library, or you were a spellbound child in the audience during one of his legendary school visits, or you collaborated with him as a fellow illustrator or writer––or you're simply lucky enough to have him for a friend––you know the huge heart and magnanimous spirit of Michael P. White.

Well, our friend is in trouble. 

Michael has been battling severe infections in both legs that were provoked by exposure to poison ivy earlier this year. He has survived sepsis, spent months under the treatment of a wound care doctor, only to relapse and be re-hospitalized. He will hopefully be released soon, but his wound care continues, and his medical bills are daunting.

We, his friends, know that COVID has left many of us in the industry with little work, and most of us are living leaner these days. Yet, this is one of those seasons when––as a community of friends––we can come together to help one of our own. Let's do for Michael what I know he would do for any of his friends in need, had he the means.
