Michael Rivera Jr. AKA DJ Bosoe

On February 18, 2022, my brother Michael Rivera Jr. passed away. To say it has been hard on our family would be an understatement. We have gained joy since as friends and family have and continue to share personal stories and experiences about him. To hear how Michael touched their lives and to know he was loved by so many brings our family insurmountable happiness. I always knew my brother to be a remarkable man--these stories have been a great validation of that. My brother had a huge heart and inspired so many. The ultimate passion of Michael's life was being a Father and Grandfather. He loved his five kids and two grandchildren, with a third on the way. His kids knew him as Dad, and his grandkids knew him as Papa Michael. He looked forward to spending time with his family whenever he could and loved every minute of it. His next passion was being a FunkFreaks DJ and playing vinyl records at shows. Michael went by the name DJ Bosoe. Music was a love of his throughout his life and always helped him express himself. My brother was an artist of all sorts. He loved to draw and create works of art on all canvases: whether it was his daughter's softball helmet, portrait, or sweater. He indeed had a gift for being able to capture life itself with ease. Our family would like to ask anyone willing and able to contribute to Michael's services; please do so through this page. Thank you for celebrating his life and legacy with us. Whatever you can donate is greatly appreciated, and we thank you all for your love and support during this challenging time as we learn to navigate our new normal.
