Michael Swann to the 2023 DC Trombone Workshop
Donation protected
Greetings! My name is Michael Swann and I am seeking financial assistance to cover my tuition and expenses for the prestigious DC Trombone Workshop. The DC Trombone Workshop is a week-long intensive program held at Shenandoah Conservatory, where top trombonists collaborate with renowned professors and performers to better their craft.
The workshop enforces a strict application and audition process and only accommodates a maximum of 40 students from around the world. I am elated to announce that I have been accepted to participate in the 2023 workshop. However, I require funding to make this opportunity a reality, which would enable me to fulfill my ambitions as a musician.
Currently, I work as a private lesson teacher in the Dallas/Fort Worth Metroplex, and my studio generates enough income to cover my monthly and day-to-day expenses. In the past year, my family and I have had and continue to have some challenges, which is why I have decided to fundraise. The chance to work with some of the most distinguished trombone professors and perfect my craft is an opportunity I cannot afford to miss.
For transparency, my current guaranteed cost breakdown is:
DCTW 2023 Tuition - $800
Shenandoah Dormitory - $434
Application Fee (paid) - $25
Balance Due (May 15, 2023) - $1,209
I've set the goal a little higher than the $1209 to secure my spot at the workshop, knowing that if I get that far, there will be additional travel costs this summer to get to Virginia from Texas.
