Michael Thomas for Cottesloe

Hi guys,
I am considering running in the Cottesloe by-election to raise awareness for the completion of the Perth-Fremantle PSP Bike Path.
The bike path ends abruptly at Grant St, and forces riders onto busy Curtin Ave which is a very dangerous situation. The bike path has remained unfinished for the last 20 years.
I don't expect to win (Cottesloe is a safe blue-ribbon seat), however I believe if we can get 5% of the votes then this will create a lot of pressure for the State Government to release funds to complete this bike path. Hopefully before someone gets killed.
For this campaign to make a difference, I need your support in getting the word out, getting people to vote, and helping out on election day. There are also some costs involved:
-Nominating as a Candidate ($250)
-Pamphlet drop to Cottesloe electorate ($2000)
-Big poster at Grant St ($250, already funded)
-Getting an article in The Post, and the West Australian
Nominations close Friday 2nd March at 12pm. If I can raise $1500 by then, I will go ahead! However if there is not enough support I will bow out, and I will refund any donations (please make sure you include your contact details).
In the 0.1% chance that I actually win, here is what I also stand for besides the completition of the bike path:
-Building an ocean pool at Cottesloe
-Further bolstering the great research being done on sharks and their behaviours
-Big companies making meaningful contributions towards the community
-WA getting their fair-share of the GST carve-up
-Making child-care costs tax deductible to support working parents
Thanks for your support.
