Hi All, So back in Oct 2021 Dad was diagnosed with a brain tumour, he had this removed in the November and it was confirmed he had stage 4 glioblastoma, a very rare form. Dec 2021 Dad started his intense radiotherapy treatment which lasted until Jan 2022. He then started a chemo treatment plan which went on until July 2022. During this time he had various MRIs and it came to light that Dads tumour has grown back again. Dad was then offered a different chemo treatment which he started but became very sick. Towards the end of July we learnt that Dad had another tumour and that they was withdrawing Dads chemo treatment, and that he hasn’t very long to live. He was given 3 months. Dad was moved to St Christopher’s Hospice in Sydenham where he put up a strong and stubborn battle for a while until he sadly fell asleep for the final time on Aug 2nd 2022. As a family to see the one we looked up to pass away so quickly has broken us all.
So as with all funerals they become expensive and to the point where money just disappears and everyone is searching deep to find the money to cover all the expenses. Our family is no different. Dad was a very proud man and would have given you his last penny if it meant you needed it more than him and would never ask for it back. Even though Dad had a funeral plan policy it was only taken out in the past year so basically is deemed worthless and we have to find the money to not only cover the funeral but also his burial plot.
So I’m asking you the wonderful public if you can donate, even if you can’t donate you could share this as someone may see it and be in a position to donate. Every pound and penny counts, so whatever you can afford even if it is just £1 then please do. My family would be forever grateful to you for being in a position to help us give Dad his final wishes.
Thanks to all who can xx Love Jen & Family xx
