A TRUE MIRACLE AND A SECOND CHANCE .
Two months and 5 days since the ordeal began we are working toward recovery and waiting for a sign from God that will reveal his will. The professionals are calling it a miracle.
The hemoraghic stroke left 40cc of blood in his head just right of the center of the brain. Surgery was performed the same day to remove the large bleed that would surely kill him if left alone. Not 2 days later a shunt was inserted into the cranium and medically induced hypothermia and coma would follow. For 3 1/2 weeks he would fight the swelling. Eventually maxing out on all treatments . The would warm his body and discontinue the coma inducing medication. The decision to remove the ventilator was heartache. But he wouldn't want to live like that. The doctors said he might last a couple hours.
We waited, praying and stressing, I hadn't really slept for weeks and that night was no different. But he kept breathing and fighting to stay alive.
It would be weeks before Michael would tell me what he remembered about that day.
He told me he remembered being in this thick black sludge. He could hear us crying. He felt as though hands were pulling him down. He was so cold andand afraid, he cried out " Jesus help me" . He said everything got real quiet and then he was being pulled out of the sludge. He recalls the liquid falling from his face and body. He was crying hysterically and a voice said It's ok now , it's not your time yet. He was drawn in and held close and he could feel only warmth and love. Pure love like no other he said. Then he opened his eyes and saw us there.
