Michaela Luna needs our help.

Hello All,

I wanted to write a few words to express my gratitude and give you some updates. These last two years have been extremely busy! While pregnant, I began chemotherapy treatments. After treatment #9, I gave birth to my healthy baby boy! I finished #7 more chemotherapy treatments, moved onto #33 sessions of radiation, and had three more surgeries. During all of this time, your personal words of encouragement, meals, visits, texts, gifts, and GoFundMe donations were positively received and forever embedded in our hearts. Your financial contribution allowed for me to concentrate on fighting this awful disease and fighting for my life and of my unborn baby. I truly could not have gone through everything I have, had it not been for all of your support. My outlook on life has changed since January 2022. I love more, laugh more, live more, and let more go! I don’t want to waste a single moment. I truly believe the best way to show my gratitude to you all is to fight to live and to use my platform as an example to others. Help. The word help is most used as a verb with, or without, an object. When used with an object, its defined as, “to give or provide what is necessary to accomplish a task or satisfy a need; contribute strength or means to; render assistance to.” In this context, the word help is properly used as follows, “We need to help Michaela!”

When used without an object, the word help is defined as to be of service. A perfect synonym is Michaela. She gives without expectation or hesitation. She serves her community with the hopes of making a difference in the life of every person she encounters. Michaela is a daughter, sister, friend, aunt, cousin, godmother, significant other, and most importantly soon to be mother. She is someone who makes you a better person through a simple conversation. She is fiercely loyal and equally compassionate. She is gracious. She is loved by all that know her. She is notoriously humble and private.

Why does Michaela need our help? Michaela is currently going through chemotherapy for breast cancer while also preparing for the arrival of her first child. In addition to chemo, Michaela has already undergone two surgeries with the reality of many more surgeries to come, after the arrival of her baby. Ever the fighter and always the humble individual, she is managing this journey with grace and toughness. However, with each day and new appointment, the medical bills are slowly mounting. Her ability to work and stay in-front of these bills is decreasing by the moment.
