Support Michael’s Stroke Recovery
Donation protected
On Sunday, July 19th, my husband Michael suffered a massive embolic stroke that left him in the ICU. He is 42 years old. The stroke damaged the left side of his brain and partially paralyzed the right side of his body. He currently has no use of his right arm and limited use of his right leg. This has also caused him to have difficulty with his speech.
Michael is very athletic and often seen training for cycling marathons; like Hotter than Hell. He participated in the 50 mile ride just in 2019.

Given that the doctors may never be able to pinpoint exactly how and why the stroke actually occurred, we don’t know how long this recovery journey may be. Michael is still struggling to get the swelling down in the brain. At this time, we are not able to visit Michael due to the pandemic and solely have to rely on nurses to give updates.
Sadly, this medical tragedy will affect his ability to work, drive, and perform everyday tasks.
I have started this GoFundMe Campaign to help with medical expenses and general financial support as he recovers. The doctor’s have advised to anticipate a long-term care as he must go through physical, occupational, and speech therapy. But we are hopeful that this campaign will alleviate some of his financial burden so he can recover with minimal stress.
When the worse happens, it’s a comfort to know that our community can come together and be so generous with thoughts, prayers, and any other support they may be able to offer.
Thank you all for your support through these difficult times. I will keep you posted on his progress through this page. Please check back often and share with your friends and family on social media, anything helps. The more people who know about Michael’s situation, the sooner he can focus on recovery.
